Heating Instructions

We’re giddy with excitement for you to enjoy your Boosh dishes! Below are instructions on reheating to ensure you’re getting the best flavour and texture possible in every bite.

Tips for Making Your Boosh Dishes

  1. Double check the heating instructions for each dish.
  2. For best results, thaw dishes gradually in the refrigerator for 8 hours.
  3. Remove the plastic film before heating items in the oven.
  4. When using an oven,  first remove the plastic cover and heat to 350°F (the paper trays aren’t suited for any temperatures higher than this) or follow the microwave inustructions below.
  5. Keep in mind that due to oven temperature and microwave power and wattage variations, cooking times vary and may require adjustments.
  6. Never re-freeze your food!

Microwave Cooking Times for Dishes

Pull the film off corners of the package before putting your Boosh dishes in the microwave. Use the thaw function on your microwave or heat for 2 minutes on medium to thaw, then heat on high for remainder of time listed below. Add an extra minute for any of these dishes if needed.

Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey & Vegan Ground Round
2 minutes on high

Black Bean Balls & Cauli-Chickpea Cakes
1-1½ minutes on high 

Potato Lentil Stack
2 ½-3 minutes on high (this dish is dense so make sure it is  hot in the middle or cut in 2 pieces to speed up cook time.)

Buckwheat Noodles & Ancient Grains
2-2½ minutes on high

Vegetables 
1 ½-2 minutes on high

Sauces
1-1½ minutes on high power. Frozen sauces can also be heated on stovetop on medium heat until warm.

Oven and Stovetop Cooking Instructions

Remove the plastic covering on all dishes before heating in the oven. For best results, thaw dishes gradually in the refrigerator for  8 hours or on countertop for approximately 2 hours. If using microwave to thaw, use the thaw function or heat for 2 minutes on medium.

Beef and Pork
Pan Fry - On hot pan, sear the meat about 30 - 60 seconds per side until hot. Remove from heat and let rest for about 1 minute before serving.

Oven - Heat in 350°F oven for 6-8 minutes.

Chicken, Turkey or Vegan Ground Round
Heat in the oven for 4-5 minutes at 350°F degrees. Let rest for 1 minute before serving.

Black Bean Balls, Cauli-Chickpea Cakes* & Potato Lentil Stack
Heat in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 350°F degrees. Let rest 1 minute before serving. (Potatoes may take 10 min to 12 min.)

*Stovetop - Cauli-Chickpea cakes are even better if you pan fry in a bit of olive oil
on medium for approximately 1.5 minutes per side.

Buckwheat Noodles/Ancient Grains
Oven - Heat in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 375°F degrees. For best results cover with foil to keep from drying out. Remove from the heat and let cool for about 1 minute before serving.

Stovetop - Use steamer to heat and maintain moisture or stir fry lightly in healthy oil.

Vegetables
Heat in the oven for approx 5 minutes at 350°F degrees.

Sauces
Heat sauces in a pot on stovetop on medium heat until warm.
